Introduction to Mental Health in the Workplace

Duration – 4 hours

With 1 in 4 people in the UK likely to experience a mental health issue each year, it is of the upmost importance that workplaces are taking an active role in supporting the wellbeing of their staff. A Mental Health First Aider can help to facilitate this. Our regulated and nationally recognised qualifications create Mental Health First Aiders who can genuinely make a difference within their workplace, giving them the tools to actively support colleagues who are struggling, and also the ability and personal resilience required to put those tools into practice.

The Qualsafe Level 1 Award in Introduction to Mental Health in the Workplace (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification for people who wish to raise their awareness of mental health and improve their mindfulness in work and everyday life. The qualification would be suitable for an individual or a group of up to 25 colleagues within a business.

Throughout this half day course, learners will be introduced to mental health issues such as depression and suicide and build an understanding of stress. Topics covered include: An introduction to the use of appropriate language when supporting others and the importance of self-care as a tool to potentially improve mental health.

Assessment methods include 1 x Theory Assessment (Multiple Choice Question Paper).

Learners will also receive 12 month access to our Mental Health First Aid online material through our app, before, during and after the face-to-face training.
